Developing Multicultural Communication Skills

Training Aims and Content

The course aims to develop the communications skills and cultural awareness needed to work more effectively in the context of various business functions.

  • Authentic, up-to-date video and audio listenings.  Analysis of cultural and linguistic barriers to clear communication and how to overcome them.
  • Improving everyday telephone skills .
  • Emailing workshop with focus on improving effectiveness of exchanges .
  • Development of key vocabulary and functional language needed in typical communications.
  • Using appropriate language to be more ‘polite’, ‘persuasive’ but also ‘firm’ in spoken and written English.
  • Raising awareness of different roles and responsibilities.  Exchanging ideas and team building.

Courses are tailored to suit the requirements of a function, department or management. Typically courses are devised in collaboration with managers/team leaders to best meet demands.

Level of English required: B1-C2 (Council of Europe Scale)

Ideal Group Size: 8-16 (Ideally two groups/two trainers)
